The requests from the citizens of Ward 4 mimicked many of the same concerns as citizens across all the wards in Texarkana, Arkansas which included basic services like trash pick up, animal control, repaired roadways and water and sewer needs.
The demolition of old and abandoned houses was also a top concern. Condemnation was one of the most consistently brought up issues among all the wards. Condemnation of many houses throughout the city will be decided in upcoming board meetings.
Ward 4 was the last of six ward meetings held by city officials to get input from citizens regarding tax revenue. Over 50 people including city employees were in attendance Thursday July 19th at Hickory Street Baptist Church to voice their opinions and concerns.
