Several city officials from the Texarkana, Arkansas police department, fire department and city hall participated in the 24th annual National Night Out held by local communities Tuesday August 7th.
National Night Out is known as "America's night out against crime" and is a good time for neighbors to get together and talk with local police officers and city employees to discuss ways to heighten crime awareness. There were as many as 17 different National Night Out parties this year in Texarkana, Arkansas.
Mayor Horace Shipp, Police Chief Robert Harrison, and Fire Chief Bobby Honea were just a few of many city employees to participate in this year's event.
