The purpose of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is to provide a recognized role in the community and a meaningful life in retirement for older people through significant volunteer service. In doing so, volunteers not only keep themselves active, but also provide the community with a wealth of knowledge and experience. There are no eligibility requirements based on income, education, experience or any membership dues.
Individuals 55 years of age or over can be a RSVP volunteer regardless of income level, race, creed, sex, or handicap. RSVP is actively seeking baby boomers who are great contributors and potentially valuable volunteers. Individuals must be willing to accept training and supervision as required and be capable of performing his/her designed assignment. Individuals 16 years of age or over may participate as RSVP members but their hours will be recognized for service rendered by the program locally. Performance of the RSVP assignment is done without compensation.
There is no cost to you! Membership is absolutely free, and you are entitled to receive:
Any public agency, private non-profit, non-political, non-religious organization or licensed proprietary health care facility located in the RSVP nine county service area may be a volunteer station where volunteers perform their duties.
