SUMMARY: No changes in the agreement have been made from last year. This agreement has been of great benefit for both Arkansas and Texas. It allows us to have an Engine Company on an Emergency Scene faster, as well as adding additional manpower. I would recommend that this be approved.

BOARD ACTION:

RESOLUTION NO. ______

WHEREAS, the Interlocal Agreement for Mutual Aid Fire Protection will expire August 15, 2000; and

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the community that the agreement be renewed;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the City of Texarkana, Arkansas, that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Interlocal Agreement for Mutual Aid Fire Protection, attached hereto and made a part hereof, for a period to terminate on the 15th day of August, 2001.
