Texarkana Arkansas Police patrol officers arested 2 suspects in connection with a string of early morning vending machine break-ins. On 4/11/06 at 12:50am Officer John Gibbert was dispatched to a report of a suspicious person near the parking lot of a convenience store in the 400 block of East Street. Upon arrival to the area officer Gibbert spoke to a witness who advised that a suspect had just broken into a vending machine in the 500 block of East St.
While searching the immediate area, officer Gibbert located a male and female who were sitting in a vehicle which was in the parking lot of the store. Officer Gibbert noted that these two subjects had not been in the vehicle when he arrived in the store parking lot, and they had not come out of the store. This led him to believe that they had been on foot in the area. Upon approaching the vehicle for further investigation officer Gibbert noticed that the passenger was concealing an object in his hand which turned out to be a knife. Both subjects were told to exit the vehicle and back-up officers arrived to assist.
The female was identified as Summer Good (w/f/23 Texarkana, TX), and initially the male subject gave a false name. He was later identified as Walter Nabors (b/m/22 Texarkana, TX). During the course of the investigation, evidence was obtained which linked the two suspects to several other cases of B/E and at least 3 other vending machine burglaries which occurred in Texarkana, TX.
The charge of Breaking or Entering is a Felony in the State of Arkansas. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Bi-State Jail. No bond has been set at this time. This investigation is ongoing and other arrests may be forthcoming.
