Re: Drug Arrest

Texarkana Arkansas Police arrested three suspects on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.

On 8-3-04 at 8:20pm officers conducted a vehicle stop for a traffic violation in the 1200 block of Jefferson Ave. Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle and she was identified as Artrea Jackson (b/f/28 Texarkana, TX). During the course of speaking with the driver Jackson advised that there was no contraband in the vehicle and she gave consent to search the vehicle. The front seat passenger stepped out of the vehicle and was identified as Clyde O'Guin (b/m/24 Texarkana, AR). He was followed by the back seat passenger, Marcus Maxwell (b/m/34 Texarkana, AR).

Officers noted loose debris in the floorboard of the car which was suspected to be marijuana residue. During the search officers located a large duffel bag in the front floorboard underneat the spot that O'Guin had been seated. Inside the bag officers located three clear plastic bags containing approximately 15.4, 15.4, and 15.6 ounces of suspected marijuana, respectively.

As officers approached O'Guin to make an arrest he attempted to flee, but was apprehended a short distance away. Officers seized approximately $1,500 cash from O'Guin and Maxwell, as profits from drug activity and Jackson's vehicle was seized and impounded.

All three suspects were arrested and transported to the Bi-State Jail on felony charges of Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver. They are awaiting bond at this time.
