Re: Double Homicide Suspect in Custody

One suspect is in custody and an in depth investigation continues after Texarkana Arkansas Police discovered two bodies on 11/26/07. Investigators located the bodies of a male and a female victim at the scene of a house fire at 1924 Pecan Street. The remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiners' Office in Little Rock and positive identification has not been made at this time.

During the course of investigating this incident detectives interviewed an aquaintance of one of the victim's at the Bi-State Center. Information was developed during the course of the interviews and investigation which linked the aquaintance to the crime scene. Two warrants for Capital Murder were issued and the suspect was taken into custody without incident shortly after the interview during the early morning hours of 11/27/06.

The suspect is identified as Brandon Stringer (w/m/26 Texarkana, AR). Stringer is in the Bi-State Jail at this time and no bond has been set.

Police Chief Bob Harrison is quoted as saying, "This case has been very demanding for our entire department, both our uniform patrol and criminal investigation divisions. Most of our detectives had a 24 hour work day yesterday and their efforts have resulted in the arrest of a suspect in this case."

The investigation is still ongoing and a report from the State Medical Examiner could be made as early as tomorrow afternoon.
