Re: Arkansas District Court Offers Amnesty Program

The District Court of the City of Texarkana Arkansas has announced an amnesty program for Failure to Appear and/or Contempt warrants. This program applies only to those individuals who currently have arrest warrants through the Texarkana Arkansas District Court. The amnesty program will begin on January 15th and will conclude on March 15th.

Business pertaining to amnesty requests will be handled during the regular business hours of 8am to 5pm only.

According to court officials, anyone having an outstanding warrant issued for charges of Failure to Appear or Contempt can come to the District Court offices and pay the original fine and related court charges. If these fines are paid in full the outstanding warrants will be dropped. It is emphasized that the original charges and related fines will still be in effect and defendants will still have to pay these charges. Only the Failure to Appear or Contempt arrest warrants will be dismissed.

Again, the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department will not arrest any individual who comes to the Bi-State Center in order to pay the fines for warrants pertaining to Failure to Appear, or Contempt during the amnesty period.

Anyone needing further information can contact the District Court of Texarkana Arkansas at 903-798-3016 or visit the court office located on the first floor of the Bi-State Justice Building.
