Re: Alternate PIO/ Not for Public Release

Effective 5:00pm 1-4-08 alternate PIO's will be Lt. Doug Avery (903)277-4808, and Capt. Glenn Greenwell (903)826-0822. These will remain in effect until further notice, most likely early next week.

As of 1-6-08 I will be transferred to the Special Operations Section of the Patrol Division where I, along with Officer Shane Kirkland, will assume duties as Crime Suppression Officers. We will have variable hours and we will be assigned a variety of tasks involving problem areas of town, including both crime and code enforcement issues. It's been almost 3 years, and I'm looking forward to the challenge. I'm ready to get back out onto the street!

The new PIO has been selected. Officer Kristi Mitchell will assume duties as PIO on Monday morning, 1-7-08. I will let her formally introduce herself to you next week. It will take a few days to get her up to speed, and I can tell you that you will be in excellent hands with her. She is very capable and qualified for the job and I believe that you will all enjoy working with her. She will have the same phone number that you have listed for me (903)824-4199.

On a personal note, let me say that each of you have made my job easy. I have enjoyed the opportunity that I have had to work with each of you.
