REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH PROGRAM
Reproductive health services are offered to assist women and men, including adolescents, to achieve good reproductive and general health, make informed reproductive decisions, prevent unintended pregnancies and positively affect the outcome of future pregnancies. Services are provided in accordance with Federal Poverty Income Guidelines, and in some cases are without cost to the patient. Medicaid is also accepted as payment for clinic services. (Patients on Medicaid must provide proof of eligibility prior to admission).
For women
Services include: Sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment, Pap smear and breast exam provided by local obstetrician/gynecologist, counseling regarding safe sex and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, breast self exam instruction, preventive health literature, immunizations, laboratory testing, blood pressure screening, nutritional counseling, 2dysplasia services, and 3pregnancy testing (on a limited basis).
For men
- Services include: Sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment

- Prophylactics (condoms)
- Testicular self exam information
- Lab
- Referrals as needed

Specific methods offered:
- Oral Contraceptives (pills)
- Spermicidal Foam
- Diaphragms
- Sterilization (tubal ligations and vasectomies)1
- Depo Provera (injection)
- Condoms
- IUDs
Emergency Contraception:
In addition to the previously listed services, we offer Emergency Contraception. This service is best suited for "emergency use". It may be used within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. For further information you may call and speak with a nurse in the Reproductive Health Department.

2 In the event of an abnormal pap result, the patient is assisted in accessing further evaluation and treatment by a local obstetrician/gynecologist. Cost of dysplasia services are covered by the Reproductive Health Department (utilizing grant funds) to eligible patients.
3 Pregnancy testing is available on a limited basis. Cost of testing is $10.00. Upon patient request, assistance with scheduling prenatal care at a local prenatal clinic is provided and referrals are made to the Department of Human Services for enrollment in Medicaid and to WIC for nutritional services. Case Management services are offered to clients with high risk needs.
Comprehensive family planning clinical services including most available methods of birth control, emergency contraception (ECP), and male reproductive services
Preventive education
Sexually transmitted disease services to include: Preventive education and Counseling
Testing and treatment for gonorrhea, syphilis, and Chlamydia
(Treatment cannot be provided unless we have positive test results.)
Contact investigation for syphilis is provided by the Texas Department of Health
