Pandemic Flu Planning: Decision-making Bases for Essential Government Services  - Restoration 2007
Preparing your government, organization, and community for pandemic influenza is critical. A pandemic of the severity of 1918 would affect every county in the nation, and is projected to cause two million deaths. The demand on government services and critical infrastructure would be overwhelming. This facilitated workshop will offer overviews of community mitigation strategies, a perspective on essential government services, and an emergency preparedness case study of a small local government. An exercise will task groups with identifying the basis for prioritizing government services to ensure continuity during a pandemic event. Registration is required and there is a $50 fee for this training. For more information on Restoration 2007 Workshops and Trainings contact Bryan Barnhouse at bbarnhouse@icma.org or visit www.Restoration2007.org.
