Non-Pay Service Charge:

Charged to any account not paid by the due date and time specified on the customer's second notice. This fee will be assessed whether service is physically turned off.
After Hours Service Charge: $25.00
Charged to turn water on after regular business hours.
Meter Reread Fee:
$10.00
Charged for any customer requested reread if no problem is found with the initial meter read.
Meter Testing Fee:
$30.00
A meter testing fee of thirty dollars ($30.00) shall be charged for any customer initiated meter test for meter of two inches (2") and smaller if the meter is found to be within industry tolerances.
Meter Tampering Fee:
$35.00
Fee charged for any unauthorized usage. Plus any additional charges associated with the offense.
Nothing in the preceding shall be construed to prevent the City from pursuing civil or criminal penalties against any person or parties tampering with, damaging and/or using without authorization water services, sewer services, fire hydrants, water valves or any related water and/or sewer system appurtenances to the maximum allowed by state law.Residential Deposits
The following options are available:
- Letter of reference from a water, gas, electric utility reflecting a good payment history of at least twelve months with no penalties or service interruptions for non-payment. Monetary deposits may be assessed if payment is received late twice in any 6 month period. Payment is processed the day it is received at the main office location of 801 Wood Street, Texarkana TX.
- An account co-signer can be utilized if they meet the following criteria: Have excellent credit with the Texarkana Water Utilities (no late payments); The individual that co-signs must appear in person along with the applicant, and provide us with 2 forms of identification; the co-signer must agree that if for any reason the individual fails to pay their water bill, then the final amount will be transferred to their account without notice.
- By securing a deposit of sixty five dollars ($65.00). Increased deposits may be required after service interruption for non-payment.
- In the event an account is shut off for non-payment and/or delinquency, a deposit of twice the current residential amount will be required to reestablish the service.
