Since 1999, the Beverly Community Center has provided a caring and safe environment for the youth in the Texarkana area. Now under the direction of the Texarkana Texas Parks and Recreation Department, the opportunities for success continue to grow.

Enrollment is required to join our program, but at no cost to you. At times there may be a charge for extracurricular activities.

Programs Offered

Lights On After School
Enrollment lasts from August until May. Doors are open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. We provide a safe, relaxed environment for ages 6-17. They can come and study or just hang out and socialize. We provide snacks, homework assistance, Jr. Master Gardener Club (featuring hands-on crafts and experiments), life skills groups and arts and crafts projects. In our state-of-the-art computer lab, kids can play games, do homework and improve computer skills. During free time, youths can enjoy playing foosball, pool, air hockey, puzzles, basketball, volleyball or a variety of other games. We also offer field trips and holiday and monthly birthday celebrations.
